50 Ball Bingo

With emojis now part of every day language it was perhaps inevitable that they'd somehow end up in a bingo game. Mecca Bingo launched Emoji Bingo back in 2016. This is a 50 ball game that uses the popular icons in place of bingo numbers. This kind of thing has done before. Tombola for example used pirates and associated images for their Pirates game.

  • Type Of Game: 50 Ball Bingo
  • Cost: 25p to £3

50-ball bingo card design. With only two rows with five numbers on each row, the 50-ball bingo card is one of the leanest. There’s no gaps, and your 10 numbers are laid out randomly. Unlike other bingo cards, there’s no logical order to help you find them quickly, so when the caller starts, your brain has to work harder. With this, 50 ball bingo was created, using solely the numbers 1 to 50 across the whole of the game. All Online Bingo Games Here are all the online bingo games available to play.

Emoji Bingo is a 50 ball game that features emojis such as the heart, smiley face, kiss, monkey see and the famous poo emoji. The bingo card consists of random emojis floating in speech marks. In many ways it looks and feels like Tombola's pulse. In fairness the latter is probably better game but Emoji Bingo does have some plus points.

The Emoji Big One

50 Ball Bingo Game

To play Emoji Bingo you first need to select your card price. You can choose 25p, 50p, £1, £2 or £3. You can only purchase one card per game. All players will play the same game but the value of the prizes and jackpots increase based on your chosen ticket price. Each bingo card has 10 numbers and the aim of the game is to coverall all number first in order to win the full house.

To complement the base game, Mecca's Emoji Bingo also has a couple of progressive jackpots. The Emoji Jackpot is won if house is called in 19 calls whilst The Emoji Big One is won if house is called in 16 calls. Both are community jackpots and 100% of the pot is shared by the rommies playing the game when the jackpot is won. At time of writing the jackpot was around £566 whilst the bigger pot was at £2600.

Our Verdict

Having also played Burst Bingo, another of Mecca Bingo's 50 Ball games, we didn't quite get the same enjoyment from Emoji. Like Burst the number calls are accompanied by the most annoying sound that quickly becomes aggrevating. This game would be better if the calls were actually read out 'smiley', 'poo face' etc. The Donald Duck on helium 'we have a winner' announcement at the end is not a highlight.

Emoji Bingo is one of three 50 ball games at Mecca Bingo. In our view it's not as good as either BOB or Burst. The community jackpots are nice but Burst offers the same game mechanic. Emoji just seems to be a game that 'was a good idea at the time' but misses the target. A game where characters involved is a nice variation on bingo but Pirates at Tombola is a much better experience.
